Grwp Eco (Welsh only available)
children

Cafodd ein Grwp Eco syniad da, sef cynnal diwrnod o ffeirio a chyfnewid llyfrau a dillad yn y neuadd gan roi cyfraniad tuag at y Groes Goch, er mwyn cynorthwyo pobl a gafodd eu heffeithio gan y llifogydd diweddar. Diolch i`r disgyblion a`u teuluoedd am gefnogi`r ymgyrch hon, a diolch am eich cyfraniadau hael. Codwyd £186.08 i`r Groes Goch. Bu`r disgyblion hefyd yn trafod themau yn ystod y diwrnod e.e. cynhesu byd-eang; effaith sbwriel, yn enwedig plastig, ar yr amgylchedd; ailgylchu; arbed ynni; coedwigoedd traofannol; tywydd – corwyntoedd ac ati.

Ysgol Llanllechid has been awarded the Gold accreditation for Green Schools since 2010. We are proud of the fact that our pupils are aware of the values which allow them to take care of their local environment and on a wider scale – protect their planet. The pupils have:
Discussed climate change and its effects
Kept a record of weather patterns locally and in contrasting countries
Cut down on the use of batteries
Discovered Gwynedd’s carbon footprint
Educated the local community on alternative means of transport
Researched renewable energies
Cooperated with others regarding reduction of waste
Maintained the school’s garden

By working with local agencies Ysgol Llanllechid has worked throughout the year in maintaining the key values associated with the Green Schools initiative, e.g.
Recycling clothes with Antur Waunfawr
Welsh Water (Alwen Centre) – workshops on reducing the use of water
Visits to Coed Meurig and Blaen y Nant
Gwynedd Council – reducing energy with Ms Marial Edwards
